Sale in Etsy Shop

Hello! Just a quick note to let you know I just marked down a whole, and I mean whole, bunch of items in my Etsy shop. Holiday Projects start in a couple of weeks and I am making room.

I debate this with my self all of the time, so now I will ask all of you... How many items do you like to see in an Etsy shop? Are you overwhelmed when it's a lot? Or do you want more choices?

What about supplies and gifts? I am thinking about adding supplies that go along with my projects. Good or bad idea? Gifts? Too confusing?

I would love to hear what you think. Whether it's shopping in my Etsy shop or whether it's your own shop.

Thanks for your help!

  1. Great question, Jennifer. One I'd like to know the answer to as well. As a shopper on Etsy, I think it gets confusing when there is too much in a shop. But I do like to have enough variety to stay with a shop if I'm looking around. But I have no idea what is to little or too much. One of the things that is limiting on Etsy is that it is difficult, impossible?, to have a natural way to navigate a particular shop. Hope you get some good answers here. Thanks for asking the question.

  2. I know when I am shopping for particular items I want to get them all in one place so I can spend less on shipping. So I like lot's of choices. Some of the Etsy shops have so many pages that it would be impossible to get through it all.

On the other hand, I get overwhelmed with my shop if I have more than a hundred items.

Who knows? Thanks for the comments, we'll have to see what the others say.

  3. I love to have lots of choices, and I love to be able to get the supplies to make what I see. The rows and rows of earrings that you were making to be shipped, loved them, would love to get the supplies to make them. Your ideas get other ideas going and going....the Etsy shop does look great!! I totally love choices!!! Thanks

  4. I love it when items on your blog and holiday project newsletter can be found in your Etsy shop (the finished items as well as the supplies). Sometimes I like to buy the supplies and make something myself, but sometimes I just want to buy a unique gift for someone and love to pick out something that is already finished. I love to shop in Etsy stores that have a variety and that are easy to navigate by using the shop sections. I also agree that too much gets overwhelming. I think more than 2 or 3 pages of items per section is enough (that is just me though).

  5. 2-3 pages per section...that's sounds really good. Thanks!

  6. I find that when a shop has a LOT of pages (15 + or so), I look at the first few pages and leave. It's too much. And I might sort by price and look at the first few pages again. That's it. I'll never go through 20 pages of items.
