Beads and More

Hey Hey! I am back. How on earth did it get to be Friday? Well first of all, there was a typo in my last post, I guess I said I had sick kids and really I just had one sick kid. Not that , that's any better. So the first part of the week was getting Fletcher all better. Thanks for every one's e-mails.

Yesterday I had a trip to Atlanta to pick up clay and shipping supplies. My car was loaded down, I was down to a little lump of clay here and it was kind of scary to be that low. Especially with Bead and Button around the corner. Yikes! But I am restocked and I also have my lime green tissue paper back. If you have gotten an order from me lately you probably notice all the different colored tissue. Usually it's my signature lime green but I ran out and I was pulling out any color I had. It's back!

I did make one more stop at In Town Quilters. A quilt store I have been wanting to go visit. It did not disappoint. They had tons of stripes and dots and bright colors. It was right up my alley. I had to buy some. I will show you another day because I am working on another quilt. I know I am officially obsessed with quilting now.

Take a look at the Beads 2010 cover up there. I circled my pendants that are on the cover. Wahoo! There are here in the shop. Below is an ad for SoftFlex that will be running in the summer edition of Stringing magazine. Erin Prais-Hintz designed this fabulous necklace for their contest. You can read more here. Oh, and these beads of mine are only found at Fusion Beads and occasionally in my Etsy shop.

Have a super weekend,

New Birds and Give Away Friday

My birds are out of the kiln and hanging out in my tree. There are purple birds as well as turquoise, orange, and yellow. You can find them here on my website in the what's new section. This is my favorite picture of the week. It took me awhile to get all my birds hanging the right way.

If you do go and see the new birds on the website take a look around. I have been doing all kinds of work updating and sprucing the place up. I still have some more tweaking but I am so happy to have updated photos.

Okay, let's make this a give away Friday. Leave me a comment today and you could win a pair of my new birds, your choice of color. Have a great weekend and I will be back here on Monday to announce the winner.

Happy Earth Day

Hee Hee, I took this photo the other day with my photo shoot also. This is one of my little snails in the garden with my tiny zinnia sprouts. I have tried to grow flowers every year since we have lived in Georgia but we have deer that have no problem with coming up on the back porch and eating whatever they feel like. So this year I got my own space in the veggie garden for flowers. I planted a ton of zinnias because they are my absolute favorites. I will show you when they bloom. I even planted a whole pack of chartreuse, eek!

Happy Earth Day,

Mystery Quilt

Good Morning,

Check out my latest bit of fun. My local quilt shop is hosting a mystery quilt thingy. I don't really know what you would call it. I am sure there are quilters out there who know what I am talking about so feel free to jump in with the actual word. Anywho, we pick out our fabrics and each month for six months we get instructions for one step of the quilt. This month I had to cut some triangles and sew them together. Now that I have them finished I need to take them to the store and they will give me my next set of instructions.

I have never done anything like this. I am a control freak so this is huge that someone else is telling me what to do. ( yes. that's why I am self employed) The girls at the shop warned me it was a bit of a traditional quilt, they know my style. I made sure to pick out some fun colors for the experience. I will keep you updated in the months to come of my progress. Should be interesting....

By the way, above is take two of the picture, I had a helper the day of the photo shoot who wouldn't get his big nose out of the way!

Birdy Sneek Peek

I promised some new birds coming out of the kiln this week. Here is one that made it out a litle early. He is perched on our birdhouse. I've got more colors coming later in the week.

Keep coming back later in the week, I have more bird pictures, I had a bit of a photo shoot this week with them. I was once again looking like a fool in my backyard, but at least now that it's spring the trees have leaves and the neighbors can't see in as well. This bird house was made by Nik's grandfather for us. We got it just after we were married, 13 years ago! Check out the back, he carved J + N. Birds come and stay every year in it.

Have a great day,

Colorful Post

Hey Hey....

Whew look what I did this weekend. I painted and cut out a whole bunch of bags. It's been awhile since I made them, so I went ahead and made a bunch. I also have some new styles in the works with the super cool velvets I dyed. I love velvet, I love that fuzzy texture. When I was little I had flocked wall paper, big yellow flocked daisies....oh I would love to have that wall paper again.

Jennifer Jangles has a big week ahead, some new little birdies will be coming out of the kiln soon, I am getting a newsletter together, and more.
Talk to you Soon,

Up To My Eyeballs in Buttons

Hey Hey, Happy Saturday! The response to my buttons for Quilt Shops has been amazing. I have been making buttons for the last few days straight. Oh, how I wish I could sew them on some of my matching fabric......someday. I designed the card that my buttons will be shipped to stores on. They go to the printer next week.

I showed you this picture before, these are the buttons that were going on the display boards for the quilt shops to see. They have been glued on and shipped out. But I love looking at all my hard work together like that. Below is a picture of a tray of buttons I have ready for the first firing. The first firing is called the bisque, these will be fired to 2000 degrees.

I hope everyone has a great weekend, I am hoping to enjoy this beautiful spring weather and I want to do some sewing. I might just have to set up the machine on the back porch!

Kumihimo Bracelet

Do you do Kumihimo? I don't but Margy McCroskey does and she made this really great bracelet with one of my flower beads in the middle. It's so darling, I asked her if I could show it off on my blog. She was kind enough to say yes. I just love those glass seed beads with the lime green.

Give Away Friday

Hey! Hey! It's give away Friday again. I took a few weeks off. I can't say that was my plan I think those Fridays just sneaked up on me. Leave me a comment for this post and you will be entered to win a woodland snail bead. He is a one of a kind because he has a hole. My snails are usually charms. I think he's pretty darn cute and almost hate to part with him. I am sure he will scoot on to a good home. You can post a comment until Monday morning when I will pick a random winner. I can't give you an actual ending time but it will be once the boys are on the bus and I am sitting at my computer drinking my morning mocha. I am so official. :)

Let's see there are so many things going on in the Jangles studio right now, there is just a buzz about the place. It's so exciting that my fabric is available for order now. This also means that my buttons are being ordered by quilt shops too. I am in full speed production right now. I have a humongous kiln being loaded today with all sorts of stuff. I can't believe it but I think I will have almost everything in stock on my website after today. There are just a few items left to make. Wohoo! I didn't think that was really possible. I also have some new birdies in the kiln. All different colors, I can't wait to see them all together. One more thing and then I will stop....I also just placed an order for some new stamps. I am super excited to get them. I make my texture pendants with stamps that I hand draw. I drew out some new designs and am having them made as we speak. It will still be a few weeks before I can even start making things with them, but I am sure you will here about it when I do. The ideas are churning in my head. Whew! That was exhausting just telling you about it all.

Before I go and let you start leaving your comments, I thought I should mention again, my Bead and Button classes. I can't believe it's only six weeks away(or close to that). I am teaching a bunch of ceramic bead making classes and a jewelry making class. It's always a good time. So if you were thinking about signing up now is the time. I really hope to see you there. I love when I get to spend the day with someone that I have talked to online, it's fun!

Alrighty, get to commenting, and I will be back here on Monday, mocha in hand, to let you know who the winner is.

Have a great weekend,

Happy Fabric!

Here is the whole collection of my Happy fabric. I love seeing it all together, now I just wish it could be actual fabric. I hate that I have to wait until September, I have no patience. So in the meantime I will plot and plan all my projects out in my head and make buttons so that way I am all ready when it arrives.

Have a great day,

Spring-y-ness

Good Morning! Look at this cute little strawberry bloom I have in my garden. I have lots of them and they are just the most perfect little flowers. I did some work this weekend on the blackberries, strawberries, and rhubarb. It's getting real close to the time where we need to plant our summer veggies. I love going to the garden store. We always buy way to many plants.

It's spring break here this week. I will be posting but maybe a bit sporadically, I am not following much of a schedule this week. My boys just left this morning with my mom and Nik's mom for vacation. They did this last year and had so much fun that they wanted to take them again this year. We of course, aren't complaining.

Before I go check out these so cute, little purple birdy earrings made by Kim Roberts. While you're there you should just take a look around at all the great things she makes.

Hope you're all having a good week,
