BugaPalooza Border Prints Found

Hello,

I have been getting lots of questions about where to find the Bugapalooza Border and Main Floral prints. I am sold out and it is sold out at the In The Beginning Fabrics warehouse. I did a quick internet search and found the prints in a few places. If you are a quilt shop or an online store and have these prints, please list your shop name and location in the comments.

Bugapalooza Strike Offs

Look what just arrived in the mail.... Bugapalooza strike offs. Whats a strike off, you ask? Well in the fabric printing world, the mill takes the design files that we (In The Beginning Fabrics and I)  send the mill. The mill does a first round of printing the designs on fabric. They screen print small pieces of the design and these are to make sure the colors are correct.

Think about if the mill just printed thousands and thousands of yards and it was the wrong color, yikes! Strike offs are usually sent once, notes are made about color changes and sent back. Then a second round of strike offs are sent. Usually that's all that needs to be done, every now and then a third round is required.

These strike offs are for my Bugapalooza fabric line that is arriving in stores in April. This is the first round of strike offs and they turned out really great. Every single one needs to be examined for printing flaws and color changes. 

Over the next few weeks, I will start planning out what patterns and projects I want to sew with these prints. This gives me a head start so when the yardage arrives I am ready and don't have to think about a thing and I can begin sewing.

 In the meantime, I will start sewing some smaller projects with these, because seriously, receiving strike offs is like being a kid on Christmas morning.

Sneak Peek - A Walk In The Woods

Hello, I don't always give sneak peeks at upcoming fabric lines but I just can't wait on this one any longer. This one is close enough to landing in stores that I am going to go ahead and give you a little taste of it that will be in your favorite quilt shop in July.

It's called A Walk in The Woods as you can tell from the images it's got a fall theme. My favorite thing about this line....I have written a project book to go along with it. It's got the wall quilt shown above as well as placemats, a table runner, stuffed pumpkins and more. You'll have to wait until it comes out to see the rest, but I couldn't be more excited.

Fabric and Free Patterns

Hello! Some fabric has made it's way into the Jennifer Jangles Etsy Shop. I was able to get the last bits of Polka Dot Garden and Tussie Mussie from In The Beginning. These have been out f print for over a year now and they are getting hard to come by.

Usually, I don't like to sell my fabric in my shop. I never want to compete with other quilt shops and stores that carry my fabric. But, folks are always asking me to sell it. These bits and ends are my solution. Now I have to admit, there's was a moment when I wanted to keep them all for myself. Truthfully, I have my eye on several fabrics I might not be able to part with for FOREVER. Any who, they are in the Etsy shop, everything I have is listed and there is no way to get more of these fabrics ever again. Yikes!

Quilt Market, Spring 2013

Hello, Hello, Long time no blog. It's Quilt Market this weekend in Portland. All last week I was busy sewing samples for the Thermoweb booth. I have sent them my Okey Dokey Owl and my Okey Dokey Owl and Friends Quilt for display in their booth. I am happy to say they are flying their way now as we speak. 

I am super bummed that I won't be at market this spring, but a girls got to take a market off every now and then. This just happened to be the one that was the farthest away and at the busiest time of the year for me. I am already excited about fall market because I will be there for sure.

So Quilt Market is usually a time when new fabric is debuted....

I will have two ready for ordering at this market. Hoopla and Everyday Fun. You will be able to sew with them in November. One is a basics line and the other is a mini line that has a fun quilt print and appliqué letters. The last minute touches and tweaks are still happening so there's not much to show you until after market. But I'll give you a snippet....

In The Beginning Fabrics is in booth 2439 if you're going to market and want to stop by and see the whole shabang.

Not So Spooky Halloween Fabric

A few days ago I gave you a peek at my new Christmas fabric called It's Christmas! and it will be out in June. There's was also a promise of what's to come in July. It's a Halloween fabric line called Not So Spooky Halloween. Here's a snippet of the line to see the whole line you can head over to the In The Beginning Website to see the whole shabang.

This was a fun line to design because I have to admit I've never been a huge Halloween person. But after emerging myself into the idea and drawing tons and tons of ideas out on paper. I really got in to it. Now, I've got some fun decorating and quilting ideas in my head that I'll be sharing down the road with you. The first thing on my list is this quilt in the Not So Spooky Fabrics.

Extraordinary Colors

I'm super excited to tell you about my latest adventure. I have written my first children's book. it's titled Extraordinary Colors and that's just what it is about. The books is illustrated with my paintings and has Otis rhyming about mixing colors like chartreuse, saffron, periwinkle, and more. I have been working on this book for several years now and it all fell into place when I started designing my latest line of fabric. It's my first children's line and it's called Extraordinary World. You can see it here at the In The Beginning Fabrics website. You can get a signed copy of my book at my website now, but the fabric will not be available until October. Quilt shops can order it now so if you want them to carry it you can print out this blog post and take it in to them. They can also order the books as well as the fabric through In The Beginning Fabrics.

Jolly Holiday

  Hello, Hello,

Yay! I get to finally show you Jolly Holiday! I am super excited about this one because you all know how much I like the holidays right? It has always been a dream of mine to have Christmas fabric. It is shipping to stores next month, eeek! I have my sample yardage now because I am sewing like a mad women for quilt market. It's two weeks away and there is still so much to sew.
