Here it is! All 23 fabrics...I have been sewing with them all week and I could not be happier. First of all, In The Beginning Fabrics are always so soft and these are no different. Second, I love all the variety of colors, I have put color combination after color combination together and I am sure it's not even the tip of the ice berg. I have been told the fabric is shipping to stores this week, start checking your local independent quilt shop to see if they have it.

I promised a give a way and here it is. Leave me a comment at the end of this post and you will be entered to win a stack of fat quarters and some matching buttons. I will draw the winners name this Friday. Wahoo!

These are a couple of the photos I shot before cutting into my fabric...

Have a great day,

Monday

Morning.....

Still waking up around here, having coffee. It thundered or as we call it in our house, we had boom booms last night. (That term has stuck since the boys were little.) As a result of the boom booms we had a little boy at the end of our bed, snoring!, and a scared dog next to our bed. Not much sleep was had by the adults. I think it's going to be a two mocha day.

Goals for the Day:

New work photographed for Etsy

Weekend orders shipped out

Writing instructions for New Sewing Patterns

I can handle that...

Drop Earrings

Hello and Happy Friday!

Just wanted to "drop" in for a quick hello and show you my drop earrings. If you received my newsletter yesterday you saw the new O pendant and wire wrapping tutorial. These are my earrings to match. I have been wearing these a lot since I made them. I am thinking I will need a few more pairs in other colors.

Have a great weekend,

Knotted Necklace Tutorial

Here's a quick little project that doesn't take a lot of supplies, tools, or time. Here's what you need: 4 yards of waxed cotton, hemp, or twine, assortment of glass and wood beads, a toggle clasp, and a pendant.
1. Start by cutting four equal strands of cording. Remember all of the knots will shrink the length of the cords so make them long. String them through the hole of the pendant and tie a knot.

2. Start tying small beads onto the cords.

3. After knotting beads onto all of the cords tie a knot with all four cords.

4. It should look like this so far. You will continue to knot the cording with beads until you reach the length of necklace you would like.

5. Slide the four strands through one side of the toggle and tie in a knot. Approximately an inch further down the cording tie the loose cording to the strand. Cut the loose ends. Repeat on the 2nd side of the necklace.

Eggs and My Calendar

Good Day! I love this picture of all my eggs....

Easter is coming, April 24th to be exact so I thought I would get some of these babies in the Etsy shop ASAP. I am working on a basket for some of them now, but that's another post, down the road.

Here is my calendar, I am pretty sure I promised a photo in an earlier post. I can't find it now to link it save my life. But anyway... yes, here it is the map for the rest of the year. I know everyone is always amazed at how much I get done. This is my answer. I have said it a million times but I love to make lists and have a plan. I have so much going on these days that I had to print out 11" x 17" pages. Things are color coded as well. I just find that if I sit down and make a plan then down the road I am not wondering what to do next, I just look at my list and do what's on it. I think this might be my most impressive calendar yet. Do you use a calendar or list like I do?

Mugs...some one asked me about mugs in my shop... I have three in the Etsy shop today.
My plan for today? What on my calendar you ask? (I am pretending you asked) right now I am working on two new sewing patterns. EEEK! I am super excited about both and will let you know more once I get some pictures. While I am working on those patterns I am waiting for a kiln load of beads to cool. We're at 465 degrees right now and I can unload at 150. I need to take photos for tomorrows newsletter. I am really hoping you like what I have made because I am excited to show you.

Please come back by tomorrow...

Bathroom Re-do and a Sneak Peek

Howdy!

We here at the Heynen house are down to our last rooms that are still "builder beige". We have been slowly working on out family room all winter(pictures coming soon). But now that it's spring we usually go outside and work on the garden and porch area. We have a plan for the bathroom so we decided to squeeze in one last indoor home improvment project. I wanted to take some before pictures but I ran to the grocery store and when I returned Nik had already started taping. I guess you just get to see the basics here.

We got a snazzy red paint for the walls and sanded and painted the cabinets a nice black. We used milk paint, I love that stuff. Nik would probably give me a hard time here, I am saying "we", but really he did all the painting, my work comes next.

It will probably be a few weeks before my part is ready, so check back in later for progress.

On to another subject here.... I am working on a newsletter today that will go out later this week. First of all, if your not signed up, go here and get on the list. There's going to be a coupon for newsletter receivers only. Tempting eh? Here's a little sneak peek of what's coming.

Have a great day!

Thrifty Finds

Good morning and Happy Monday!

I mentioned it was girls night out Friday and we went to a thrift sale and dinner. I know we got pretty wild and crazy. :) It's an annual sale held by the local art center to raise money. It is always a blast. I always come home with lots of treasures. Here's my stash from Friday night. I got some golden books to use for notebook covers, some metal tins to paint up and decorate, and my best find of the night were the picnic baskets. I have been wanting a travel sewing box for all my nights at baseball and tennis. I love to bring along my hand sewing to keep myself occupied while I watch the boys play. I, of course, am going to do these up in Jangles fashion. Stay tuned, that will be another post down the road.

I didn't want you to miss the previous post. I have a handful of fat quarters in the Etsy shop. It's all I have... get em while you can.
Have a great day,
Jennifer

Fat Quarters

Happy Saturday!

Remember I did a quilt show a couple of weeks ago? Well I have a few fat quarters still left from the show and I thought I would get them in the Etsy shop. This is all of the Happy fabric I left. If you need larger pieces I know there are lots of great fabric shops out there with the Happy fabric still available. If you just want to snatch up a few fat quarters this is the place and time.

Have a great weekend,

Mama's got a new pair of earrings! These are my snazzy new start earrings, just whipped them up today and they will be worn tonight. It's girls night out.

If you need the supplies for a pair of snazzy star earrings or a pendant, I just listed a few in the Etsy shop.

Have a great weekend, whatever you are doing!

Studio Shots

Hey, Hey,

It's been a whiles since I gave you a peek into the Jennifer Jangles Studio. Things are busy as usual around here. I have two humongous shows coming. They are still a few months off but I have to start planning now to make sure that everything gets finished. So I feel like this is the week of decisions. I am deciding what both of my booths will look like, what I will sell in my booths, etc.

So here is a look at most of the studio, glazing area in the front of the photo and store in the back. I usually take picture from the front of the space so I might be throwing a few of you off here.

Oh my slabroller, what would I do if I didn't have you?

Buttons, Buttons, Buttons, they will be shipping soon with the new fabric! EEEK!

There it is, my Quilt Market Booth. Lovely eh? I have been sketching and planning but until I can walk around in my ten by ten corner, I can't make a decision. I am such a visual person. The good news is once I set it up, I came up with a plan. I think it will be a good one. There is a ton of sewing to be done and I might have to ask for some help to get it all done. Plus, I will be the first to admit, I don't sew in straight lines. It's my style and it doesn't bother me a bit, but when you go to market and see all these other quilts and items sewn so perfectly...I get embarrassed. I am working on embracing my look and not worrying about the other fantastic sewers out there. Okay got a little off track there...

So there's the studio...what going on in your world? Got any good projects that you're working on? I would love to hear about them in the comments.

Have a great day!

Random Stuff

Hey all...look at these snazzy mugs I just pulled out of the kiln. I am loving them and wish I could keep them for myself. But they are headed off to a store....I guess that a good thing as well.

I know I keep showing you my cherry tree...I was outside last night and there were moths flying all around the tree. It was magical. You can see the moon up in the sky as well. I wish I could of captured it better than I did. It's going to rain today and my blossoms are all going to fall off and then I won't show you any more pictures of my favorite tree.

Sunday was Birk's birthday and he wanted to go to the zoo. He and I took a ton of pictures but this was my favorite of the goats in the petting zoo. They have a good system going.

I am working on all kinds of behind the scenes projects here and have loads of deadlines. I have some exciting new things coming out of the kiln and hope to share some in the next few days.

Talk to you soon!

April Showers

They say April showers bring May flowers right? Well, here is more like March showers bring March flowers. Doesn't rhyme as well. We had crazy rain the other day and when I walked the boys up to the bus stop, I just had to grab my camera. The sky was super cool. The storms were moving out and the sun was coming up.

And below...those are my March flowers. That is my favorite tree in the yard. It's a flowering cherry and it has blooms! I get excited because next come the leaves which means a nice shady spot on my back porch for me to sit. It's not much longer...

Have a great day!

Beads and Quilts

Hi y'all, I didn't really have much to say in my post today. That rarely happens, but I miss you and wanted to blog. So..... lots of making and glazing going on today. I have a nice pile of orders that are taking top priority today. I also have this big list of new beads I want to make.

Let's see what is happening here...

I spent the weekend at my local quilt show, it was a lot of fun seeing friends and meeting new people. I also got the chance to tell a lot of people about the gallery. It was fun to hear how excited people were. Oh, and I have a picture...

I also added some fun little bead sets to the Etsy shop last night. I like these little sets of threes a lot. Maybe a pendant and earrings or a swing necklace?

I feel lots of jewelry making coming on...I think the spring weather is inspiring me..I am exploding with ideas.

Talk to ya soon!

Cherries

Hello, Hello,

Just wanted to share my latest obsession with you. It's cherries....with polka dots, of course! They are popping up all over my world right now, they are the crown on my cup cake boxes above. These boxes, by the way, I made for the shop. They took a lot of time to add all of the layers just right, but I am really happy with how they turned out. Plus it gave me something to put on my cake stands.
These cherry pendants were just added to the Etsy shop as well as a few of the cupcake boxes. They are super cute alone on a pendant. Even though, I have a more elaborate necklace in the works with these pendants. Stay tuned.

And last, but not least. It's my Cherries Jubilee fabric! Polka Dot Garden will be arriving in stores in about a month. I will give you more sneak peeks as the month goes on. This is one of my favorite fabrics from the collection. I think I am going to need a bolt of this, I see lots of projects with cherries.
