Holiday Table

Hi there!

First of all let me say thank you to all of the folks who are entering the 12 Days Give-A-Way. I am amazed and thankful for everyone who is spreading the news. You're the best! If you haven't entered, it's not too late.

Remember when I said I wanted to do some blog challenges? Well I entered one over at the SewMama Sew blog, they wanted table settings for the holidays. I decided I wanted to set up a dessert buffet with all of my sewn decorations as well as my painted pottery. This challenge came at a perfect time because I have been working on my photography skills as well. I wish someone would offer a class on photo styling. I'm sure there's one out there but I haven't come across it yet. Anyone know of any books?

So I have to say, I really enjoyed the excuse to head to the bakery and buy cake, cupcakes, and cake. Those cupcakes were gone as soon as the shoot was over.

Oops! Close your eyes...there's a sneak peek of a Holiday Project in this photo.

I took some more photos the day I shot these, they will be showing up throughout the Holiday Project Newsletters, so watch for them.

Have a great day,

Fail

In my head I had pictured a really great wreath, unfortunately, it didn't turn out that way. I am knee deep in Holiday Projects around here. Sometimes the projects fail. I'm going to have to chalk this one up as a fail and move on. Unless someone has a really great idea for it... anyone?

I have also been failing at "me time" I have been wanting to draw and paint soooo badly lately. Not for work but for fun, not anything that somebody wants me to draw. I don't seem to be able to find the time. I am hoping it comes soon. While I'm asking questions, anyone have any ideas for carving out time? Anything that works for you?

I'm also considering some challenges, like Illustration Friday, design challenges, etc. I have only participated in a handful of things like that. It seems like fun. I was doing some jewelry designing the other day for a company and I had a set variety of beads to work with. I came up with some designs that I really liked. I realized again, that when I given limitations the creativity comes out. I think challenges would help me that way. I thought about pulling out a handful of my beads and challenging myself to work with what I have grabbed. Oh so many things to think about. Question three... Anyone working on any challenges right now? Got any suggestions?

Maybe I should change the title of my blog post to questions.

Make sure you come back tomorrow, I have my biggest give a way ever starting tomorrow. It's going to be fun!

Have a good day,

About Me

Hey Hey! How are you? I'm having a hard time waking up today....still sleepy. I am sitting on my porch loving this fall air and drinking my coffee. Maybe I'm not sleepy at all, maybe I just really want to sit on this porch all day.

Today is a big sewing day. I just got samples of my Extraordinary World fabric that officially arrives next month. Right now, I just have tiny pieces called strike-offs. These are for checking to make sure the colors are correct before the mill prints all of the yardage. Sometimes in the pattern business, you have to use it to sew up your patterns if you want them out on time. Yep...you got it that's what I'm doing today. If you follow my instagrams, or tweets or Facebook posts I'll snap some photos today while I'm sewing to give you a sneek peek. You can find all of the widgets on the sidebar of my blog or my username on all three is jenniferjangles.

Oh ya, totally forgot, I also have to install a new kitchen faucet. Ours has been leaking and I called my dad last night to see how I could fix it. If left to my own ideas, I would use polymer clay and duct tape. No joke, thats how I fixed my bathroom sink 2 years ago. By the way, it still works. My dad said I have to replace this one. Instead of waiting to get a new faucet, I ripped out the old one last night, now I have no choice but to get a new one today. Yep, that about sums up how I work.

I just added a new About Me page to my blog. If you want to see the kids, my dogs, and here my business story this is the place to head.

Have a great day!

Holiday Projects are Coming and I Need You

Hey, Hey,

Happy Monday!

Look it's my banner for my annual Holiday Projects newsletter.  I am super excited to be getting ready for these this year. I'm having problems narrowing down my projects to just ten so I am thinking that there might just have to be more on the blog.

My projects start on October 3rd this year. They run for ten weeks, one(or more) projects in your inbox every week. If you don't receive my e-mails you can sign up over there on the right at my blog.  If you're afraid of too much from me, you might get an e-mail once a month from me any other time of the year. I just celebrate the holidays big.

If you want a button for your blog here's one right here.

You'll notice I have mine up today as well.

Now, remember a long, long, time ago when I said I was going to need some help from you? Well here we go. I am looking for prizes for my weekly give away in the newsletter. I need ten all together, they can be sewing, crafting, and beading related. If you interested in a spot in my e-mails, let me know. You can e-mail me at jennifer(at)jangles.net I will give you all of the details. Thanks for your help.

And speaking of give-a-ways....oh boy watch out. I have my biggest ever coming soon. I'm shooting photos today of all of the prizes...it's going to be big and it starts next week.

Have a great day,
Jennifer

September

Hello!

How is everyone? This week just disappeared from me. I guess that's because Monday was a holiday and now it's September....crazy, just crazy.

So here's what's on tap for September...

I am working behind the scenes getting all of me ten Holiday Projects ready to go. I've got all sorts of crafting, beading, and sewing projects to get ready. I'm working on some new features this year to make it a bit snazzier. You know it's my fifth year and all.

Got two new sewing patterns in the works, getting close to needing them tested. Anyone out there want to be a tester? Of course I'm running on a tight deadline so I need some folks who can do it real soon.

I'm moving out of my studio. The other night, I went over and moved the glazing tables out. That was the last task I have been doing there. I got kind of sad because it's starting to be empty like when I moved in. I remember being so excited and thinking of all it's possibilities.

Quilt Market booth designing. I ordered something on Ebay this week for display. I am going to finish cleaning out my studio and build my booth there. I have lot's of painting, building, and sewing for this one.

Last to list but my first thing to finish is Halloween! I am glazing up the end of some new stuff today. You'll be seeing it pop up next week.

Stay tuned lot's to come in the next month.

Happy September!
