Applique Pirate and Ballerina Pillows

You might of caught a glimpse of these pillows on Instagram the other day when I was taking photos. These pillows were made from the Pirate/Ballerina die from Sizzix. I love to applique, and if you take a look around the blog you'll see a lot of applique projects. So when I design dies for my line with Sizzix, I do my best to take applique in to consideration.

If you iron paper backed fusible webbing on to the fabric before cutting, you just peel off the paper and iron the pieces in place. It's so easy.

Here is another option for dolls after you make a pirate or ballerina.

Want to watch a video on how to make the dolls?

Have a great day,
:) Jennifer

Did you know? Ice Cream Edition

We're back with another trivia question. Todays topic is ice cream. Remember this for your next get together, you'll amaze your friends.

  • The tallest ice cream cone measures 3.08 m (10 ft 1.26 in) in height and was achieved by Hennig-Olsen Is AS and Trond L Wøien (both Norway) at Kristiansand, Norway, on 26 July 2015.
The complete ice cream cone consisted of a wafer cone (95.85 kg), chocolate lining (60 kg), ice cream (1,080 litres) and jam (40 kg) and, after being measured in the factory freezer, was carried below a helicopter to be distributed to attendees at the Tall Ships Race event in Kristiansand Harbour. Sunshine Mini Quilt

Earlier in the year my friend Caroline from the Sew Can She blog asked me if I would like to design a mini quilt for her. Mini quilts are my favorite quilts to make because they are so fast to make, I always feel like I have accomplished something when I finish one in an afternoon. You know what I mean if you have a stack of unfinished quilts lying around your sewing room. :)

You can get the free pattern from her blog. While you there you should see the other mini quilt patterns. Every month a new designer is being featured. How fun!

Here is the post with how to pictures and the pattern.

Here's another post where sewists showed off their versions of the sunshine mini. There are so many great quilts.

Have fun making yours!
