Monday Morning...

Mondays...Lately I have started out every Monday with a gigantic to-do list. By Wednesday, I am feeling better because I have whittled some of that list away. Today is not different. The store opens this week, I have a quilt show this weekend, and I have at least on e-mail or appointment everyday this week. And when I get home, baseball starts this week, we have tennis and piano already. I know I asked for all of this and most of the time I am really happy with it all, just not on Monday mornings...

So I am going to drink my coffee and work really hard his morning so I can get to my Wednesday "this weeks gonna be alright" feeling a little earlier. It's a beautiful spring day here in the seventies so we are going to open the door up at the studio and let some fresh air in. Here in Georgia, we have grass and trees blooming. Spring has arrived. Above are my version of Easter eggs, they are ceramic and I placed them in this fun grass I found. It's one of my favorite mini displays at the gallery.

I am going to take lots of photos today of the studio and gallery, there's a lot going on, I will post it tomorrow....so come back by then.

Have a great day,

Gallery Opening

It's official, I will be opening my doors on March 1st! Eeek! I am super excited and still have tons to do. We're making good progress in the studio this week and I am feeling like it will all get done. Above is the official information, address, etc. Just in case you want to come visit, please do. I am looking forward to meeting people in person. So much of my business is online and it's going to be nice to put faces and voices with some of you.

Folks are asking for more pictures so here are some. You'll notice I have shown you some of these areas before. I keep rearranging to get everything to fit just right. There are still empty spaces but by next week, it will all be filled up!

You've seen this cabinet about three times...

Signs! They are going up in the next couple of days.

Beads, yep pretty empty right now, but not long and it will be bursting with beads.

Found object bracelets

Window shot

Hairbands, pictures, mugs, and more

Hope to see you soon,

Chalk Boards

Hey, Hey!

Here's a few more pictures from the new studio. I painted some chalk boards around on the walls in various places. I had never used the chalk board paint before, it is so much fun. Now I want to try the magnetic paint, but I will have to save that for another day.

The above sign is right behind my counter when you walk in the door.
My spring sign is by the making table. Really this board will probably have to do lists on it soon, but for now I thought I would make it fun. I also did a restroom sign. Yes, I know it didn't really need to be in chalk but I was on a roll.

I am off to the studio right now for loads and loads of glazing today. As usual there's a lot going on in the Jennifer Jangles studio and today is no different. I am making beads for jewelry all week.

Have a great day,

My New Bag

Hello, Hello,

I got to do some sewing yesterday. I have been wanting to make a bag for quite awhile now. It was just making the time to do so that was the problem. This bag went together so smoothly and on the first try! That rarely happens when I am sewing. I am considering turning it into a pattern, what do you think? I want to try a larger size too, I could keep my notebooks in a bigger one.

I had fun embellishing the front pocket. One of these days soon, I will give you a tutorial on them. I have some other dangly janglely ones to show you too.

Hope you had a great weekend,

Quilt Show Coming

Not much to say to day, but I still wanted to check in and say "Hi"

Nik and I filled out our calendar for spring the other night. Yikes! Really it's not that bad, he's got a couple of trips, I have a couple of trips you know. But I just feel like all of my beautiful spring weekends are taken up and they haven't even started. I am trying to chill out about it all. But one of the things I should mention is this...

The Cotton Patch Quilt Guild,
Hot Threads, Cool Quilts, Quilt Show

The show is in a couple of weeks and I will have a booth at the show. It's in my town and just down the road from my studio. If you're in the area you should come by. I went to the show two years ago as an attendee and was amazed at the talent in our area. The quilts were amazing and I bought some fun stuff too. My shop will be open the same weekend as well so make a day out of it and come see both.

Yep, you heard right, my shop will be open! Wahoo... My first day open will be March 1st. I will post more details when it gets closer.

Have a great day,

Spring Sale, News, and a Project

Hello, Hello,

I am back from my week of taking it easy. My surgery went as well as it could go. The nodule was removed and there is no cancer. I will have a scar across my neck but a beaded necklace will cover it just fine. Thank you so much for all your well wishes and comments last week. It meant a lot to me.

To celebrate me being back and that spring is coming(it really is), I have decided to have a sale. Enter the coupon Spring25 in the box over at Etsy and receive 25% off your order. You can shop all week, the sale will end Friday, Feb. 18th.

Jewelry Making Daily has a project from Candie Cooper today. It's a snazzy found object necklace featuring my pinwheels and some spoon links. It's really nice so you should definitely check it out. Oh and if you're looking for the pinwheel beads that go in this necklace. You can find some here at Lima Beads.

Happy Valentines Day!

Updates...of all sorts

Hello, Hello,

I was very productive yesterday and got to check a lot of things off my list. What a good feeling. Because I was so good yesterday, I am taking it easy today. I'm blogging this morning and then I am going to go do some drawing at a coffee shop and then see where the day takes me. Fridays are always supposed to be my design day but for some reason the last three or four have been taken up with other things.

So let me tell you what all I have been working on this week. First of all, the store. Looky there...I have some things to sell. It's still pretty bare, but some work is better than none. I have been painting and glazing away this week. I have three kiln loads of pottery to fire over the weekend and some other things drying. Monday, shelves should be filling up around here. I just am happy to see all my bright colors instead of all the white.
The other big task I got accomplished yesterday was in my Etsy shop. I have been wanting to get my buttons in there for a long time. There are so many choices, I wasn't sure of the best way to list them. I think I have come up with a solution with a "you pick the color" kind of thing. Anyway they are up. Let me know if you find this way difficult.

I also got some fabric cut up and packaged for kits for my Daisy Pin Cushion Pattern. I put some of those in my Etsy shop too.

Last but not least, with all the Etsy shop updates...I put a handful of my little dishes in the shop. I just put a few so I could save some for the shop shelves.

I have been working hard this week behind the scenes on my website too. It's probably going to be another week before it's up and running though. It's now my job to arrange products, add new items, etc. It has a whole new look and I can't wait to show you.

Not that this is a very big update but for some reason, my follow me link disappeared from my blog awhile ago. I added it back today, you'll find it at the bottom of the list on the right hand side of the blog.

So all this hard work his week has been because next week I will be taking it easy. I have to have surgery... on my thyroid. Half of it has to be removed or maybe all of it and then I will be recovering. Sorry if I am grossing you out, I get queasy talking about it. I am not good with hospital stuff. If I were reading this blog I would have to stop now...so I won't say anything else.

Here, I will leave you with some pretty pictures to take your mind, and definitely my mind, off of the above.

Have a great day!

Store Update

Good morning y'all...

Just wanted to give you a bit of a store update. I am knee deep in getting it ready. I have projects all over my home and studio. I don't know which way I am going there are so many things to do. Is it scary that my lists are now being written in a 11" x 14" notebook because it's the only thing big enough for it all?

I am bringing my camera to the studio tomorrow and I will shoot some pictures. Right now, here is a picture of some of the Little Dishes that I just pulled out of the kiln. They range from 4-5 inches in diameter.

Besides working on the store, I am working on some new stuff for the Etsy shop, hope to have it updated in a few days. I will let you know when I do.

Have a great day,
