Bead Surfin and a New Necklace

Good Morning!
Can't type much this morning, my beads absolutely have to be mailed today to get to Bead Haven for the trunk show this weekend. I have little piles of them around the studio. They need to be strung up on wire and the pairs need to be tied. Plus I just need to sort, count, and price everything. Whew! It will get done, but I really need to hunker down and do it this morning. I hate to be late, actually I don't even like to be almost late. I think I have said this before, in college I wrote my papers two weeks before they were due. The stress of last minute work kills me.

But on to a new subject....I am having so much fun designing with my new beads. Here are some pieces I have recently made. Enjoy these and the surfin links below and once I get these beads packed up I will be back.

I was Inspiration!

I got an e-mail from someone yesterday. She told me she loved my new book and that she was a glass bead maker. She went on to say I inspired her to make some stick beads in glass. Of course, I was curious to see what someone could come up with in glass. I checked out her blog and there it was...a fabulous necklace. Check it out here. So we did some more e-mailing and I did some more checking out of her blog and website. This someone is Kerry Bogert. I have seen her beads and jewelry in lots of magazines. It's really wonderful. We have a similar fun and bright look. We chatted some more and we are thinking of doing a collaboration pieces down the road. How fun!

Also, while your surfing.....my website has some new beads. Stick beads are up and available for purchase. I am working on some new designs with them now. I am seeing all kinds of possibilities, so stay tuned to see what I come up with.

Happy Mother's Day

I hope all you mom's out there had a great and relaxing day enjoying your family today. I am a mom and I received some great craft projects from my two little guys. They are five and six. I got a hand print in clay and a handmade paper flower with all the reasons why I am loved written on it. They are so cute! We have been so busy around here with traveling and house guests, it was nice to take the day and relax and not do much.

They day is winding down now and I just wanted to share some photos I found of some fish. I love these. They are pajama fish. They look like my beads, or I guess my beads look like them. I have a tank of fish but mine aren't as fancy. I swear some day I will get up the nerve and/or energy to have a salt water tank. I just love thee patterns and colors of tropical fish.

Botantical Gardens and Inpsiration

Hello,
Here are the photos of the botanical garden I promised. It was such a cool place! Fairchild Botanical Gardens is the official name if you are ever going to be in Miami, don't miss it. Look at these colors!

I really love visiting botanical gardens and aquariums. Actually I live just around the corner from the Georgia Botanical Gardens and I visit often. But I have to say I am a sucker for palm trees and other tropical plants. I guess it's the clean lines and fun colors that attract me.

Also, I don't want to be one of those bloggers that apologizes when it's been a long time since a post. But here goes my explanation on the lack of posting. It's spring. I get really busy in the spring and my top priority is getting my orders out. So if I am not posting as often, it's because I am in the studio making and glazing beads.

Gotta go make more beads now....

Welcome to My Online Bead Show

This weekend is the Bead Bonanza in Southfield, Michigan. I used to always go to the show, but since our move to Georgia last year it's just too long of a drive. Therefore, I am having an online bead show. What is that you ask? I am not really sure either but the two reasons why I go to bead shows is for the inspiration and not having to pay shipping.
