Bugs!

Good Morning,

I cannot believe how many things I found in my garden today. This cute little caterpillar was on my Celiosia. So was the bee, these flowers smell like honey so I guess that explains why he was there.

Then I took about twenty pictures to get this one of the butterfly. I had to though, it was so pretty.
This guy is about four inches long and I almost ran into him. I am so happy I saw the web at the last minute. He was guarding my blackberries. Yikes!

I then had a fun surprise. I thought I had this gigantic vine that is seriously 30 feet long and growing along my fence of cucumbers. I completely forgot that I had panted birdhouse gourds. I have a hundred or so of these little starts on the vine. I found a couple of big ones too. I am much more excited to see gourds, I don't like cucumbers enough to have that many. Not that I know what to do with that many gourds. Got any suggestions? I would love to hear them.

Happy Saturday!

Things are growing around here...

Oh boy, I went away for a couple of weeks and everything seemed to multiply! Our garden has exploded. Here my old post where I showed you a picture of the garden after we had just planted it. We have since then harvested, collard greens, onions, lettuce, and tomatoes. We are even replanting some rows that we have used up. Yep we eat a lot of veggies, we're vegetarians. Anyway the basil, tomatoes, and tomatillos are starting to explode now. We plan on making loads of salsa and pasta sauces this summer.
Here's another growing thing. My puppy. Here is the old post of this little guy. Hard to believe that was in January and it is now June. He is seven months old now and quite huge. We thought we were getting a 30 pound beagle! Hmm... but we adore him anyway, he is a great dog and is already at 50 pounds and climbing. Too bad he doesn't eat vegetables, we've got plenty.

Speaking of growing, there's one more thing. It's my Etsy shop! Woohoo! I have added some great new things that I don't have on the web site. I also included my glass bead mixes with the beads so all you need to do is string something up. No guess work with colors. I have plans to keep growing my Etsy shop over the next few weeks so keep watching.

Have a great day!

Spring Garden

It's planting time at our house. This is what we did this weekend. I say we, I did help a lot, but my husband did much more work than I did. With two little boys and a puppy running around the rows its hard for both of us to work. As you can tell we love to garden and now that we live some where warm, we get to do a lot more of it. We planted broccoli, onions, lettuce, spinach, garlic, bluberries, and blackberries. This is out first full year of gardening since out move to Georgia. We are really excited to see how we do. There are a lot more bugs and critters than in Wisconsin.
