The projects just keep coming...

A big thank you for all of you who cleared out my Etsy shop this weekend! It's almost empty, wahoo! I have beads in the kiln today that will be making into the Etsy shop in a few days. The shop won't stay empty this long.

I keep finding more and more projects with the new disc beads in them. This is a quilt I am working on. I started embellishing it this summer while on vacation. I would still like to add more beads to it, but I just haven't found the time. One of these days.

The quilt is a mix of cotton quilting fabrics and velveteens. I distressed some of them with ink. I added my embellishments and some small beads and crystals. I need to finish this quilt so I can start on another one. I won't allow myself to start another yet. I have probably three sitting around, some from a really long time ago. Oh...unfinished projects....

Have a happy Monday!

  1. Jen, this piece is gorgeous! I love seeing all these new things you come up with! And, yes, the unfinished projects...haunting us from the dark corners of our studios. I knocked out a couple of things that have been sitting there FOREVER...and it sure felt good! Very freeing! Have a good day!

  2. I knew you were a talent to be reckoned with but quilting too!?!? That is amazing! I love it and it is so perfectly is so you.
    Enjoy the day!

  3. I got my first sewing machine when I was five. The sew perfect model, do you remember that one? Well I wore it out on all the bags and place mats I was making so my mom let me use hers instead. I also worked in a fabric store through high school and college and before I found clay, my plan was to run off to New York and be a fashion designer.I could go on and on but I won't but fabric and I go way back!
    Have a great day,

  4. Dori,
You're so good. I have many unfinished projects laying around. I get bored if I don't finish them right away. I might have a touch of attention deficit.

  5. All I can say is WOW!! It is beautiful and so fun with your beads on it.

  6. What a beautiful bright quilt! Is it a lap quilt or full size?

I never learned to sew. Actually that's not true. When I was about 12 my mother sent me to a couple of spinster sisters who were to teach me. They quickly realized I was a lost cause, and showed me the art of calligraphy instead. I absolutely loved it! But I do sort of regret never having learned to sew.

  7. My goodness - is there ANYTHING you can't do????
