Beads, Beads, Beads

Beads waiting to be clear glazed

  1. Saw all your work in progress at ABS- Yikes! Good luck in your rush toward B&B :)

Here's a question for you...the picture of all the bisque piled in your kiln, do you fire it that way or was it just for the photo? I'm always worried about anything getting too close to the elements.

  2. That's exactly how I fire them. I try not to let them get deeper than a couple of inches or the gases can't escape. I try to keep beads away from the elements but they sometime get stuck in the grove. So far no problems....I have been firing beads for eight years now.

    Thanks for reading the blog,

  3. Well, so much for being a scaredy cat- I'm about to throw about 4 years of caution out the window and stack those suckers up!! Of course this is also going to also force me to be more productive ;)
