A New Quilt

Hey, Hey,

I mentioned that I started another quilt this past week. I snapped a photo the other day of my cut pieces. I think the cutting is my favorite part because I have to decide which colors to use. You all know I love color. Here's what I have so far, believe it or not this is going to be a more muted quilt....ha ha I know for some of you it will still be crazy bright.

I have a goal of making four quilts, my hubby had the brilliant idea of making a cool quilt rack for the living room. It's going to be all folk art-y( is that a word?) We want it to hold four quilts then we can all choose which quilt we want to use and they will be displayed like a piece of art. I have a long way to go since I only have one quilt made. Of course, I will keep you posted on my progress.

Have a great day,
Jennifer

  2. Thanks Frances, I can't wait to see it either. I am doing some hand appliqué on it and it's taking forever. I am enjoying the hand sewing more than I thought so that's good.
    Take care,

  5. Love the quilt Jennifer- I know you will have beautiful color combinations because you have a great eye with your jewelry.

I love the fun fabrics that you have chosen for this one.
Playing with fabric is just as addictive as playing with beads.
By the way, I love your carnival bead necklace - it is so much fun - I want to reach out and touch it.
    Regards,
    Anna

  7. I'm loving the colors of the cut pieces and I know the finished product will be amazing! I can't imagine the time it takes to cut and sew each little piece, and then sew all the pieces together. I don't think I have that much patience!

  8. Alice,
I find it kind of meditative, all the cutting and sewing. I also like projects that take a lot of time to finish. I am doing different steps along the way so it's not always the same.
I'll keep showing pictures as I go.

  9. Wow Jennifer. I didn't know you quilted too. I love your colors, they are my favorite too.
Who quilts them for you? Or do you do it yourself!!!

  10. Hi Harriet,
I quilted my last quilt on my machine because it was just straight lines. But usually I take them up to my moms house because she has a long arm. I would love my own someday. That reminds me, I was supposed to get your contact info for a friend that needs a quilt quilted.
