Yummy Pendants and Ribbons
Yummy pendants with matching Sari ribbons have been added to the Jangles Etsy shop today. I am in love with the ribbons and pendants together. I have some ideas in my head for some necklaces. I can picture one with several strands of the ribbon with beads cones, and the flower pendant. I can also imagine it strung on and tied for an over the neck pendant. So many possibilities. I will keep thinking of ideas as I glaze away today. Maybe soon, I could actually make them.
Have a great day,
Jennifer

Found Objects
Hey, hey, I have new kits! I think these found object pendants are my favorite of the new kits. I have mixed my ceramic beads with glass, felt, real dice, and more. Each kit is a bit different I color but they all make the same style of pendant. The chain is a really pretty gunmetal and it measures 30" and has a clasp. You can find them in the kits section of the website. Don't forget yesterdays post, 10 percent off until the 30th. Wahoo!
Have a great day,
Happy Summer
Happy Summer!
I sent out a newsletter earlier in the week and let everyone know about a summer sale I am having. I realized I should mention it to you blog readers too. Everything at the Jennifer Jangles website is 10% off until the 30th. You just have to enter the code Summer10 in the coupon box to receive your discount.
See my flowers above? Those came from my garden. They are my zinnias, I am loving them and I keep cutting them and filling vases and everyday I have more. They are all sorts of colors so everyday it's a surprise to see whats going to bloom. I have about 20 more that need to be cut this morning! It wasn't so long ago that they were these little guys.
P.S. The super cool pitcher was made my one of my favorite potters, Carter Gillies, you can find his work at Good Dirt, if you're ever in Athens.
Have a great day,
Strike Offs
Hello!
This just arrived the other day in my mailbox and I was so excited! I am learning about the fabric process as I go, so I will share. Yes, that is actual fabric above! But it doesn't quite look exactly right. These are called strike offs. In The Beginning Fabrics submits my fabric designs to the mill. The mill then screen prints the fabric as close as they can to what it will look like when it's printed. They send it back for us to look at and give changes to them. This will happen a few more times and then when they designs and colors are exactly what they should be they will be actually printed. These are the first set of strike offs, the color is a little off and the black lines are thicker than what they will be, and the fabric quality is not as nice as the real deal. But we are getting closer and closer to having real fabric to sew with. EEEEK! I cannot wait. I have a whole list of projects to make.
And below is a copy of the spring In The Beginning newsletter. I made the front page. Sorry about the bad photo, it's the best I could do. I still need that new camera.

Pop Art Pin
When you're not online you can still look at beads on your computer. Art Jewelry Magazine has created free downloadable wall papers for you computer. This months free wallpaper happens to feature a pop art pin I made for Art Jewelry Magazine. They even have downloadable instructions for the pin if you missed it when it was in the magazine. You can see all of it here.
Enjoy!

Starfish
Good morning,
Just wanted to let you know I have some more starfish sets in the Etsy shop. I know there were a few of you who wanted them before Bead and Button, so get them while they are here. Here is necklace made with the starfish pendant. Oh, and here is another! Several folks bought the starfish pendants at Bead and Button too. Maybe some finished jewelry with them will start showing up in the Flickr group with them. Hint Hint :)
Alrighty it's off to glaze some beads and buttons. Once these orders are out, I will be working on some top secret projects....I might be able to share a bit soon.
Have a great day!

Hello Out There
Hi there! Whew....I think I have recovered from Bead and Button. It's exhausting and then there's always so much to do when I return. I feel like I am finally getting things back to normal. Plus, as usual, I got my annual Bead and Button sinus infection. You would think I would learn, I get run down getting ready for the show and then it happens. I swear every year it will be different, but it's not. I am happy to report the antibiotics are working and I am back to normal. Well as normal as I can be.
We have been working hard here to get things back up and running in the Etsy shops. I think I mentioned Katie before. She is one of my new helpers. I have been teaching her to photograph and list items for Etsy. I am hoping this will get things to the shop much faster than when I was trying to do it. So last week, we got some jewelry and new supply bags in the Jangles Emporium. This week we will be working all week to get the Jangles Etsy filled back up. Stay tuned, I will keep you updated.
I promise you'll be hearing from me more this week.
Have a Happy Monday!

Bead and Button Pictures
Hi all! I am back from Bead and Button. It feels good to be home, I could deal with a few degrees cooler but I am just hunkering down in the air conditioning. I am so glad we got it fixed up right before we left, it was 100 degrees yesterday. Yikes!
So here are some photos from my week and a half trip up north. I was teaching before the show started so it was a long one. We get to stay with our best friends while we are there so it's always fun.
First we drove up, and while we were headed up 65 in Indiana we came across a huge wind farm. We could not believe how many windmills we saw. They went on for as far as you could see and they were all spinning. It was super cool. When we stopped at a rest stop, we saw a truck carrying the parts for another. See how big those blades are?
We got to Milwaukee a few days early so our boys could hang out with our friends kids. They lived in Milwaukee for the first few years of their life, so they are always happy to return.
We went down to the lake and did some kite flying. There was no wind so it was more of a kite running day.
After the fun weekend, I started my classes. I taught five in all. If you are a teacher then you are also included in the Meet The Teacher Event. It's on Wednesday night before the show. Here is my little table with my fancy table cloth.
Thursday is the start of the show. Here is what the hall looks like before most of the beads make it in.
Here is the start of my set up.
Here I am helping a customer and looking very serious.
And there we go, Bead and Button in a nut shell. For those of you who came, it was great to see you.
Have a great day,
Jennifer

Shots From The Studio
It's slightly crazy around here, but in a very good way. I wouldn't change a thing. Well, maybe I could use a little more sleep, but can't we all? I told you a long time ago I had ordered my slab roller. Well here she is! I love this thing, my neck and shoulders are so happy. I can't believe I lived without this for so long. It rolls out my slabs so nicely. I still do a little hand rolling at the end to spiff them up and get the clay just the right thickness, but Old Bessie is doing the hard work. Ya, we named her.
So here are some more shots from the studio this week....

The Progression of Starfish
Hey there! Long time no chat....I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, wahoo! I am getting everything packed up for Bead and Button and I have a big button order shipping out tomorrow. I am happy to leave town with the big things wrapped up. I made some more of my new pendants for the show this past week. I took pictures as I went. Above you can see the starfish and others drying on the plaster boards.
They went in the kiln for a day and came out ready to be glazed. Oops, forgot to take that photo! After the glazing they went back in the kiln for a second time, but this time they had to be hung so they didn't touch any other pendants or it would have bee a big mess.
Now they are out and ready to go to the show. I know a few of you wanted one of these pretty badly, so if you do, here's is what you can do.... Send me an email jennifer(at) jangles.net and let me know, I will send you an invoice in paypal for the starfish and shipping (10.00 + 2.00)and I will mail it out tomorrow.
The nice folks at Carnival of Shopping mentioned me in their blog, you can check it out here.
