Studios Magazine is having an Open Studios tour online this weekend. I thought it sounded like fun, so I am posting the photos of my studio. Since I have been featured in their magazine already, I thought it would be fun to post some before and after pictures. When my studio was new, it so clean and now, well, it's been worked in. I find it impossible to keep it completely clean. Plus, I could always use more space, but isn't that always true? So take a look around and enjoy the photos...
Okay, those were the beautiful before pictures, now here is what the studio usually looks like. I will be at an art fair this weekend, so I have been getting ready all week, there's been no time for cleaning.
Hope you all enjoyed the tour..have fun visiting other studios, I know I can't wait to see where people create.
Happy Saturday,
Jennifer
Oh I am so glad... You are a mortal after all!
ReplyDeleteMy studio is HORRENDOUS! And you are absolutely right that it is impossible to keep clean. But I have always been quite a horder and a packrat...you never know when you will need that widget...(helps my found object pieces immensely though!) I had the same problem as a child, the lived in look. My mom used to plead with me to clean my room...one day I told her "Creative minds are rarely tidy"...well...you can imagine what she thought of my creative mind! Funny...even back then in like 6th grade I labeled myself a creative, but I never acted on that until I was in my 30s! I know you will be having a blast with your art fair this weekend.
Enjoy the day!
Erin
Still looking pretty organized too me. Best wishes for a great show this weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove your colours, and the stripes, and the swirly floor. You sure look like you've been busy!
ReplyDeletePersonally I find the working studio pictures more interesting than the 'before' shots. I'm glad you made the pictures so we could click on them to see more detail. Thank you! I enjoyed visiting...

ReplyDeleteJennifer - if this is what you call messy, I should introduce to you to what a real wreck can look like! Your floor is still cleaned off. I loved your studio when it was featured in the magazine. It's so nice to see it "lived in" as well.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the before and after photos! Love how it is beautiful, fun and functional!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun Space, love the bright colors and the swirly floor. Great for letting the creative juices flow.
ReplyDeleteaw, there's nothing wrong with a space that looks like its well used :)

ReplyDeletei loved your studio when i first saw it in CPS Studios, and it was great to see it again. your floor is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI am smitten over your studio! Such bright and cheery colors and open spaces! My studio is a dining room table which is horribly cluttered with stuff. Sigh. Someday I hope this will change. Sigh again.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing both the before and the after!
Now this is one georgous studio - and I am happy to see that I am not the only one who gets working too fast to clean up.
ReplyDeleteI love that floor!
I love your swirly floor. I did enjoy seeing your studio in the magazine... it really is a lovely big space. I also love to see that when we all get down to working, we are comfortable with our little messes! Thanks for the tour.
ReplyDeleteI'm in total awe of your floor!! How could you help but be inspired when you look at that while you're creating? Yum!!!
ReplyDeleteCheers

ReplyDeleteI think your studio looks amazing - before & after!!!
ReplyDeleteI still love your studio. Actually love it even more now that I see that lived in look! Thanks for the tour. (I love the floors.)
ReplyDeleteYou have so much space! Your colors are wonderful and all your storage space....ahhhhh! Lovely studio. My work area is tiny but handy! LOL
ReplyDeletejennifer, I actually prefer the messier version. It looks real and lived in. And, there's something a little more freeing about being messy. (~:
ReplyDeleteAnd what a fun place to work!!!! I would luuuuuv to have a couch in mine.
Blessings
Hi Jennifer! I thought I knew that photo from somewhere when you blog downloaded! Now I know! Thanks for sharing the-in-use-Studio-photos!
ReplyDeleteMy Studio looks pretty messy when I create....smiles, Anke ;)
Thanks for sharing your wonderful space. It's so colorful! I love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being willing to share both views. I do believe most artists in a creative zone make messes! Stop by my little studio on the tour if you haven't already. Isn't it fun seeing so many?
